What is an IDNO?

An IDNO (Independent Distribution Network Operator) is licensed and regulated by Ofgem to own and operate electricity networks which connect projects to the grid.

Unlike Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), we’re not limited to a single region – so we can scale with you across Great Britain, while still providing local expertise where and when it matters most.

We collaborate with you to design solutions that fit your project, and we contribute to your costs through competitive Asset Value (AV) payments.

Why choose an IDNO?

1

Asset Value (AV) payments

We make a meaningful financial contribution to your projects unlike DNOs

2

Same standards

Held to the same performance and regulatory standards as Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)

3

No extra cost

You pay the same for your electricity

4

Faster delivery

We get paid when you’re connected, incentivising speed

5

Greater flexibility

More choice in design and materials, same high standards

6

Better service

Direct contact, regular updates, and end-to-end expert support
